Do You Need a New Computer?

• Will your present computer upgrade or is it more economical in the long run to buy a new one?

StowITnShowIT does not sell computers, but can offer impartial advice with your requirements and where to purchase. We can  set up your new computer to run securely and efficiently and make sure you know how to use it.

The Internet

• Setting up internet and e-mail accounts, and broadband/dial-up connections.
• Antivirus and security issues.
• Transferring to broadband.
• Connection problems.
• Multiple connection through routers and wireless networks.
• How to send emails and use web sites safely.

One-off problems with your computer

• Connecting and installing peripherals such as printers, scanners and cameras.
• Help with computer operations: file saving, printing, scanning, disc drives.
• Advice and help with basic software: word processing, spreadsheets etc.
• Memory and other hardware upgrades - please note that we are unable to offer a full diagnostic service for faulty hardware, but can recommend a reliable alternative if necessary.

You can call Dave Titchmarsh for help with your computer in your own home. Dave is usually available within a day or two. There is no local call out (Thirsk area) and we normally charge for 1/2 hour + additonal 1/4 hour units, currently @£30 per hour.

Structured Help

• Personalised 'courses' to satisfy individual needs.
• Sessions from 1 to 2 hours on a regular, or occasional, basis to suit.
• Any number of sessions from 2+. Stop whenever you've had enough.
• Speciality - beginners' courses in using Windows, Microsoft Works/Office, e-mail and the internet.
• Help with specific projects - organising essay writing, storing data, presentations, etc.
